Nicholas Zammit, countertenor, a Somerset, MA native, was the divisional winner of the 2006 National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) Song Festival in Boston, MA. He received his Bachelors of Music from New England Conservatory of Music in May 2005 and made his operatic debut in Handel’s Xerxes with NEC’s Light Opera Club. He has been a featured soloist with groups including Concerts at the Point in Westport, MA, the Beethoven Society in Waltham, MA, the Lecosaldi Ensemble and Vox Consort. As a choral singer Zammit has performed in Boston’s Symphony Hall, Jordan Hall and the Heinz Hall for the Performing Arts in Pittsburgh, PA. Zammit was a member of NEC’s Chamber Singers for his entire tenure at the Conservatory. Currently he is a Master’s candidate at UCLA, studying with Michael Dean and coaching with Peter Kazaras, Susan McClary and Mona Lands. He is a chorister at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels in LA. (3/2009)
